Yordano Ventura funeral latest update: Kansas City Royals officials teammates present

Yordano Ventura’s funeral is being held in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic, today and the large number of sports enthusiasts from across the tiny nation have assembled. His teammates from Kansas City Royals are there in large numbers, many of them still unable to come to term with the sad reality.

Kansas City Royals pitcher who lost his life in a fatal accident in the Dominican Republic was one of the best in the game and was expected to achieve many distinctions in the coming days. In his young life, he had made substantial contribution in his side’s 2015 World Series title win. Every analyst of the game is sure that the success wouldn’t have been possible without Ventura’s extraordinary contribution.

Reports suggest that Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura’s funeral is being attending by the top team officials and his teammates. This includes Team president Dan Glass, general manager Dayton Moore, manager Ned Yost, assistant GM Rene Francisco, coach Pedro Grifol. Among the players the ones who were able to join the procession today were Sal Perez, Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Alcides Escobar and Jarrod Dyson.

On the other hand unconfirmed reports suggest that following the car crash, Yordano Ventura was robbed at crash scene. It is also being told that Ventura’s 2015 World Series ring was not found at the site. His mother has reportedly asked officials to investigate about how the 25-year old player was robbed in the aftermath of the car crash.

Sal Perez, his teammate, while talking about the departed soul said “He wasn’t just a teammate or a friend. He was a brother…We’ve known him since he started playing for Kansas City…His moments aside, he had a big heart. It’s incredibly sad what we’re going through right now.”

While trying to console Ventura’s mother he said, “Mi doña, stay strong for your family. You have our support. … Only God knows why he does these things.”
