Mumbai: The Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has launched its newest smartphone in the Indian market. It is apparently not a high-end handset, but a budget smartphone that comes with great features. The company is sure to begin a new price war in the Indian market after taking it by storm some three years ago.
There is no denying that it was the arrival of Xiaomi in the Indian smartphone market that completely transformed the landscape here. Earlier, the entry level handset means boring handsets with inferior camera, bad display and overall a very negative user image about the handset. But people were forced to use them despite having severe disliking for such handsets.
The newest handset form Xiaomi is being introduced in the Indian market at Rs 5,999. It will be up for grabs beginning 12:00 noon today. Users will be able to pre-order the Redmi 4A soon, even when the device will be out of stock. Xiaomi Redmi 4A will come in Dark grey, Gold and Rose Gold colour variants. The Rose colour option will be available beginning April 6.
When it comes to specifications and features, the handset comes with an impressive 5-inch IPS LCD screen with HD resolution (720p) with Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage. The best thing about the handset is the fact that it comes with microSD. It has a 13MP rear and 5MP front facing selfie camera.
The handset will have a rather long battery life as it comes with a 3120mAh battery, and runs Android Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top of it
