Will Hayden, a former reality-TV star and a well-known gunsmith has been sentenced to life in child rape case. The former TV actor who featured on Discovery’s ‘Sons of Guns’ has also been accused by his own daughter to have molested her on different occasion and having sexually exploited her when she was in her early teens.
Will Hayden, who has earned fame for his top of the line gun-making skills has reportedly been sentenced to life in prison for rape by East Baton Rouge Parish court. Merely a month ago the gunsmith was convicted on two counts of aggravated rape and one count of forcible rape on April 7.
Reports suggest that the two victims who were very young at the time of being sexually assaulted by Hayden, one in the early 1990s and the other in 2013-14 have been following the case. But one of his victims, who was in her preteens at the time of sexually assault and who witnessed the sentencing refused to talk to the media.
His legal woes are not going to end with this conviction along. The 51-year old gunsmith faces other sexual assault charges too. One such charge from the Livingston Parish case involves an allegation of aggravated incest by Hayden’s daughter, with whom he worked at the family’s gun shop, Red Jacket Firearms. Hayden’s daughter co-starred with him on the Discovery Channel’s “Sons of Guns” reality program.
The gunsmith is married to Rachel Hayden, but apparently both are staying separately. She initially defended him when the accusations started coming. Rachel Hayden spoke to WBRZ2 and defended her husband. “I would have known…I do believe that she would have told me” Rachel said. Police documents state a 12-year-old girl accuses Hayden of raping almost daily – beginning when she was 11 years old. “I don’t know how long these allegations go back,” Rachel Hayden added, “but I know it definitely was not happening when we were together.”
