What Time & TV Channel Is the Blue Grass Stakes Race on Today, Prize Money, Purse Details

ViewsHeadlines Desk,

There is unprecedented enthusiasm surrounding the Blue Grass Stakes, or the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes. Toyota has been added to the famed horse race due to the fact that the Japanese automobile giant is sponsoring the race.

While horse races have always been very popular in this part of the world, this major race is held annually for 3-year-old Thoroughbreds at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky.

The most important aspect about the Blue Grass Stakes is the fact that it is run at  1 1⁄8 miles on the dirt. The Blue Grass Stakes prize money is not that big compared to other horse races in the US and other parts of the world.

The prize money here is only $1,000,000. Compare it with the top horse race. The Dubai World Cup offers the highest prize money of $10m followed by The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe where prize money is $5.7m, The Japan Cup where prize money is $5.2m, Dubai Turf where prize money is $5m and the Breeders Cup Classic where prize money is $5m.

Reports suggest that the 2017 Blue Grass Stakes has a post time of 6:17 p.m. Eastern. NBC Sports Network’s coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. Eastern.
