London: An Aljazeera report quoting UK officials in London suggest that there was intense firing around the UP Parliament. Westminster attack comes merely a day after the UK government’s decision to ban use of electronic gadgets other than mobile phones on flights coming from several Muslim nations.
Latest reports suggest that a dozen people have been injured, many of them seriously. Till now there is no indication as to who was behind the fire.
Al Jazeera report claims that UK Prime Minister Theresa May is unharmed. Meanwhile, David Lidington, the leader of the House of Commons, told parliament that an assailant has been shot by police.
David Lidington said, “The alleged assailant was shot by armed police, an ambulance is currently attending the scene to remove the casualities…There are also reports of further violent incidents in the Palace of Westminster but it would be wrong of me to go into further details before confirmation from the police.”
