Washington: Judge Neil Gorsuch’s Supreme Court hearing is going to continue second day in a row. The 49-year old Gorsuch is an American federal appellate judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. This is going to be the first high profile appointment by President Donald Trump in Supreme Court.
Republicans are sure that Judge Neil Gorsuch will be confirmed for the US apex court without much of a trouble. The confirmation hearing has happened some 13 months following the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. His death prematurely created a vacancy on the Supreme Court. With his confirmation, conservatives or rather Republicans will have a majority in the Supreme Court.
On the first day of confirmation hearing, Republican lawmakers used hyperboles to support and appreciate Gorsuch. They called him highly qualified for a lifetime appointment as a justice. On the contrary, the Democrats questioned his credentials.
Reports suggest that today’s hearing will commence from the Senate Judiciary Committee at 9:30 a.m Eastern. The coverage starts at 9:30 a.m. Eastern. You can watch on C-SPAN 3 at this link.
