A small plane that crashed onto Interstate 15 in Utah Wednesday afternoon reportedly killed as many as four occupants of the aircraft. The crash that reportedly happened at around 1 p.m. near Riverdale Road in Weber County shut down almost all traffic north bound.
Authorities claim that all the four occupants of the aircraft lost their lives in the ill-fated crash. Thankfully, there was no loss of life or injuries to the people travelling in the area. Reports suggest that not just northbound traffic was impacted, only one southbound lane remained open following the crash.
In the meantime, officials have released the names of the four occupants of the ill-fated plane who lost their lives during the Utah I-15 plane crash. There were two married couples onboard the plane who have been identified as Layne Clarke, 48, and Diana Clarke, 46, from Taylor, Utah and Perry Huffaker, 45, and Sarah Huffaker 42, from West Haven, Utah.
The plane went down shortly after takeoff from a municipal airport popular with private pilots north of Salt Lake City, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer said. No injuries were reported on the ground after it snarled traffic and left behind blackened wreckage.

Officials have confirmed that the plane was being flown by 48-year old Layne Clarke, 48. The two couples were on vacation. Reports suggest that Clarke owned an automotive paint business and had gotten his pilot’s license about five years ago after a friend got him interested in aviation, he said.
While remembering Layne Clarke on a Facebook page, ‘Weber High School Class of 1987’ one of his friends says, “It is a sad day Warriors class of 1987. We lost another classmate today. Layne Clarke was the pilot of the plane that crashed in Riverdale today. He and his wife were both on board”.
