US hits Afghanistan with mother of all bombs, GBU-43, moab, weight, blast radius

ViewsHeadlines Desk,

Washington: Donald Trump, who has been facing unprecedented opposition to his presidency in the US is apparently doing everything to divert people’s attention from home issue to international issues. The US had hit a military airbase in Syria with Tomahawk supersonic cruise missiles.

US Navy had hit the Syrian airbase with as many as 59 Tomahawk missiles within a matter of a few hours. The Syrian government seems to have been informed by the Russian government about the impending attack as Russia was kept in the loop. This is the reason that there was not a single fatality when it comes to the Syrian army. There are reports of a few civilian casualties in a nearby village.

Now as the world was expecting a pre-emptive US strike against North Korea that is reportedly preparing for a nuclear test, reports emerged that the US has struck some goddamn caves in Afghanistan. It is needless to say that Afghanistan has been thrown into stone age by the US in the last more than three decades.

Reports suggest that the lone superpower in the world, United States, has dropped biggest ever non-nuclear bomb on Afghanistan to target ISIS tunnels. The GBU-43 bomb used in the attack, has been nicknamed ‘The Mother of All bombs’. There are reasons to believe that these tunnels were built long time ago by the mujahideen who were completely funded by United States, CIA, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, who was actually paid to their these power’s bidding.

The bomb that the US dropped in Afghanistan is simply a massive bomb. GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) weighs as much as 21,600-pound and is a GPS-guided explosive. The bomb, though tested more than a decade ago, was first used in Afghanistan for the first time. The bomb has been developed by Albert Weimorts of the United States military. In comparison, the MOAB produces the equivalent of 11 tons of TNT from 8 tons of high explosive. The blast radius of the FOAB is 300 meters, almost double that of the MOAB, and the temperature produced is twice as high.
