UK Parliament attacked – London Westminster bridge attack injures many, no deaths

London: More than a dozen people have been injured in a major shooting incident just outside the British Parliament. Reports from London have confirmed that the attacker behind the shooting incident has been shot by the police. It is yet not clear if the assailant is dead or alive.

A BBC report says that the Westminster has been put under lockdown immediately as the shooting began. The UK Prime Minister Theresa May was said to be safe and under protection of a major security barrier.

In the meantime, David Lidington, the leader of Britain’s House of Commons told the media that a person who attacked the police outside the UK Parliament has been shot by police. He also said that UK Parliament in the heart of London is in lockdown. While he didn’t detail other incidents close by that were being reported by the media. There were report that a vehicle struck several people on the bridge, and photos showed a car plowed into railings.

A report in the leading British new channel, BBC, said that a police officer attacked by the assailant. But he was soon neutralized. Reuters photograph, in the meantime showed around a dozen people laying on the ground injured on Westminster Bridge. Photos from the scene show the victims bloodied heavily.

In the meantime, BBC report said that Prime Minister Theresa May was safe. “Prime Minister Theresa May was seen being ushered into a silver Jaguar car as what sounded like gunfire rang out at Parliament during the incident” the report said.
