There are probably not many people mourning his death. An NBC10 Philadelphia report says that Steve Stephens, the alleged Facebook killer of a 74-year old man has been found dead in his car. There was a nationwide manhunt underway following the horrific murder of an old man.

Authorities claim that the alleged killer who shot dead his victim from point blank range, had apparently committed suicide when he became sure he will not be able to get away from the long hands of the law. And in his case, they were very close, just behind his car.

For the last two days the police were involved in the round the clock search for the killer who not just killed the elderly person who is reportedly the father of nine kids and grand father of 16 but also recorded the entire incident on his mobile phone.

Reports suggest that while the hunt for him was in full swing, he ordered a 20-piece nugget meal with fries at McDonald’s. Authorities claim that this McDonald’s joint was less than two miles from state police headquarters. A McDonald’s employees tried to stall on Stephens’ order of fries to give police enough time to arrive.

A CNN report claims that as Stephens fled state troopers started a pursuit. One trooper performed a “PIT” maneuver — a strategic way of ramming a vehicle to disable it. “As the vehicle was spinning out of control from the PIT maneuver, Stephens pulled a pistol and shot himself in the head” Pennsylvania State Police said.

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams while talking about it said, “We’re grateful that this has ended…We would prefer that it had not ended this way because there are a lot of questions, I’m sure, that not only the family but the city in general would have had for Steve.”

A report says that the alleged killer shot himself while his car was “spinning out control” from a law enforcement PIT maneuver on April 18 after a brief chase around 11:10 a.m. in Erie. It is said that the alleged killer was a behavioral therapist and former youth mentor.

A report says that his car was in the precincts of the City of Erie when he killed himself after State Police stopped it, police said. Pennsylvania State Police have confirmed the cause of death of the behavioral therapist and former youth mentor known as “Stevie Steve,” who had been pursued for days in a massive manhunt after posting a gruesome Facebook murder video. Police said, “Steve Stephens was spotted this morning by PSP members in Erie County. After a brief pursuit, Stephens shot and killed himself”.
