Fifty people have lost their lives in macabre shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday. The deadly shooting reportedly took place during the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas. More than 200 people have reportedly been injured in the worst ever shooting incident in American history.
Stephen Paddock has reportedly been identified as the gunman started shooting and caused the mayhem in Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas.
Stephen Paddock reportedly belongs to Mesquite, Nevada. The 64-year old suspect who was acting alone or was a single wolf was firing from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel down at the festival, which was located in a fairgrounds area on Las Vegas Boulevard. Later, he was shot dead by the police officials.
It is a developing story and the death toll is going up every minute. Merely hours ago, the death toll was pegged at 20 and earlier at merely 2. Dozens of patrol vehicles descended on the famous Vegas Strip after reports of an active shooter near a country music festival late on Sunday.
Las Vegas Metro Police Sheriff Joseph Lombardo while speaking at a press conference said, “We have in excess of 100-plus injured and excess of 20-plus that have died at this point”. Reports suggest that officers responded to reports of heavy gunfire coming from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay, a hotel-casino next to the concert venue. Thousands of fans were attending the concert, which was part of a three-day country music festival known as Route 91.
While not much is known about the suspect, nonetheless reports suggest that Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, has lived on Babbling Brook Court in Mesquite, Nevada, since June 2016. It is said that earlier he lived in Reno, Nevada, from 2011 to 2016, and also had an address in Melbourne, Florida, from 2013 to 2015. He has also lived in Henderson, Nevada, and several locations in California since 1990. He was born April 9, 1953.
