Spartanburg, S.C. –Another shooting incident has taken the lives of two people in South Carolina. Reports suggest that the shooting occurred at a parking lot at a grocery store here. One person has reportedly sustained serious injuries.
Authorities have said that the two deaths have already been confirmed, while the details about the injured person are yet to be released. Spartanburg Police Maj. Art Littlejohn told the media that the officers were called to a grocery store about 7:15 p.m. Monday.
According to the officer, one person died on the spot, another person was taken to hospital a little while later. Spartanburg County Coroner Charles Clevenger while identifying the victim who lost his life in the fatal shooting incident at the spot, said that victim found was 28-year-old Tyshann Rashad Smith of Spartanburg.
In the meantime, officials have withheld the name of the second victim who was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where he later died. Coroner’s office said that his name was being withheld until the man’s family out of state could be notified. The second victim is also a man.
The case is still open as Spartanburg Public Safety’s command center was on scene along with multiple law enforcement vehicles around the taped-off grocery. More details are awaited.
