Mumbai: Samjwadi Party leader Raees Sheikh has made interesting promises to residents of Madanpura and Nagpada. Among the six candidates hoping to win from ward number 211, Sheikh happens to be the most active and promising looking at his works of development for the locality. Looking at his past works, his promises, if fulfilled, would bring much to the locality in the form of development and progress.
Sheikh has said that he has three year plan for Madanpura and Nagpara. The plan includes solving the problems of the city and establishing professional courses and projects for youth. He is already active in developmental and educational works for the area. But his post poll plans are more promising.
He talks about the dozen or so Urdu schools that have shut down in the locality, mainly due to crumbling infrastructure and lack of students. Sheikh plans to reopen these schools after introducing new age educational techniques like digital classes and semi-English medium course.
Addressing the ward’s major local problems like waste disposal and medical facility, Sheikh revealed his plan to restart the health posts that would work to create awareness among the citizens to fight pre-monsoon illnesses like Malaria and Chikangunya. These health posts would also provide basic healthcare to the citizens.
He also promises to do something about the lack of footpath in the locality that hinders free traffic movement. He also promised to solve the issue of lack of public transport in the area, so that it would aid in commute of students, women and workers.
Sheikh talks about construction of public conveniences in the locality.
The urgent need to solve the drainage and water clogging problem in the locality was mentioned by him and he said that this needs to be taken care of before monsoon this year. (UrduTimes, Mumbai
