JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — If reports are to be believed, Savannah Page Gold, the missing Jacksonville woman’s body has been found. Her co-worker at Bonefish Grill has been arrested.
Authorities claim that the body of the 21-year old woman was found close to a road west of Jacksonville. The 21-year old woman has been described by her co-workers as loving and admirable who gelled well with her co-workers, tried to make everyone around her happy and brought joy to the lives of people who came in contact with her. One of her friends reportedly described the young woman like gold, shining, and pleasing.
Authorities claim that they have arrested Lee Rodarte, 28, who used to work with the woman at a restaurant called Bonefish Grill. The young woman worked in the restaurant as manager and police reports claim that the two had an off-and-on relationship.
The officials arrested the suspect after analyzing the surveillance footage. Officials claim that the footage showed the woman getting into the suspect’s car in the parking lot of the restaurant on Wednesday afternoon. There was a struggle within the car and later, the suspect left the place in his vehicle. No one saw the woman ever again.
A report in Jacksonville.com while quoting her best friend Virjona Gjuraj as saying, “We were supposed to grow really, really old together…We used to always go to these grocery stores and we’d see these really, really old people, and she’d be like, ‘That’s going to be us one day, people with beers and cigarettes in their hands,’ said Gjuraj, recalling her friend of 14 years.
Authorities claim that the Gjuraj had talked to Gold merely 10 minutes before the encounter Jacksonville police say that took her life.
In the meantime, police have charged the suspect with murder and tampering with evidence. The man who has been taken into custody was reportedly a culinary manager of Bonefish Grill in Mandarin. The man who is behind the killing then went on to put up missing person flyers about Gold at the restaurant, 10950 San Jose Blvd.
Police claim that Rodarte was arrested Saturday night at another restaurant in Jacksonville. He allegedly admitted to killing Gold and disposing of her body at the end of Club Duclay Road. Traffic tickets issued to Rodarte in 2006 show that he previously lived on the same street. A Duval County judge ordered Rodarte jailed without bail Sunday. Gold’s parents, Sherri and Dan Gold, attended his initial appearance hearing.
