New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party’s days seem to be numbered now. There are telltale signs that the party has run out of steam and is now taking its final breath. Another loss in the forthcoming Municipal Corporation of delhi (MCD) election will cause a vertical split in the party and the end of the political inning of Arvind Kejriwal.
The humiliating loss for the AAP candidate in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden bypoll has astonished not just the part supporters, but its haters. Many had thought that the fight will be rather close between the BJP and the AAP candidate.
But as the counting started, the party candidate Harjeet Singh was nowhere in the picture. As the day progressed, the party was forced, owing to its very poor performance to concede defeat even when the counting was still continuing.
More than the loss, the nature of the loss was more important for Arvind kejriwal’s outfit. The party candidate could get less than 3000 votes. The BJP clinched victory in by a margin of at least 14, 652 votes. Congress was the second placed in the poll with the AAP candidate forfeiting his deposit. BJP candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa won by at least 14,652 votes ahead of his Congress rival Meenakshi Chandela.
