One of the best golfers of our times, Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The renowned golfer was arrested in Jupiter, Florida Monday morning on suspicion of drunk driving under.
Reports suggest that the golfer who has suffered many personal issues in the past including his separation from wife over his alleged affair with multiple women said in a statement that he experienced a negative side-effect of his prescribed medication.
A CBSNews report suggest that the golfer was booked at 7:18 a.m. ET and released on his own recognizance at 10:50 a.m. Palm Beach County Jail records, according to media reports suggest that no more information will be coming from the Jupiter Police Department till Tuesday. Till now, officials haven’t actually said if the golfer tested positive for alcohol or drugs.
A TMZ report while quoting the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that the 14-time major champion was booked into the Palm Beach County jail on Monday at 7:18 am (11:18 GMT) after he was arrested by police in Jupiter, Florida. Woods was arrested during a traffic stop around 3 am, Kristin Rightler, public information officer of the Jupiter Police Department said.

The TMZ report that actually broke the story said that the feted golfer who is struggling to regain his form was driving a 2015 Mercedes. A member of his team went to the police station to pick up the vehicle. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Woods was seen “driving erratically all over the road” and was “arrogant” during the arrest. He refused to take the breathalyzer test, which results in an arrest and license suspension in Florida. Woods’ team has been calling the police station repeatedly to find out if the arresting officer wears a body camera.
