Nick Gordon who has been legally held responsible for the death of Whitney Houston’s daughter and his former fiancé Bobbi Kristina Brown has reportedly been arrested for beating his girlfriend.
Officials claim that he had beaten his girlfriend rather mercilessly. She sustained injuries in her arms and other body parts. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
A TMZ report that broke the story claimed that following the beating, his girlfriend approached the Sanford Police station Saturday and reported that she was hit by her live-in boyfriend.
Police who searched for Nick Gordon finally found him at a local club house near the couple’s home and took him into custody. Officials suggest that he has been charged for domestic battery and false imprisonment charges.
It should be kept in mind that last year Nick Gordon who was unofficially adopted by Whitney Houston was ordered to pay $36 million to the estate of his late girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of the late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown. Nick Gordon was found legally responsible for Brown’s death after she was found unresponsive in the bathtub of an Atlanta home the couple shared on January 31, 2015.
On 11th June, Nick Gordon was presented before the court. TMZ reports that the judge asked him to wear a GPS monitor and stay away from his girlfriend. Reports suggest that Nick Gordon’s bond was set at $15k for the kidnapping charge and another $500 was tacked on for domestic violence. But he was unable to arrange the cash in time to ensure he came out of the prison on Sunday. TMZ report claims that it may take another few days before Nick Gordon is able to come out of jail. To add to his woes, the judge has ordered him not to go to his house where the incident allegedly took place. When Nick told the judge that it was his own place, the judge said it will be decided later.
Meanwhile, officials claim that Gordon denied hitting her. He told police he was the one being abused. However, after officers observed Leal’s injuries they advised her to seek treatment and arrested Gordon. According to the report, the couple’s fight began after the two watched the NBA playoff game on Friday night at a sports bar. When the couple got home, Gordon got upset because he thought Leal was trying to hook up with one of his friends, the report states. “Leal stated her feelings for Gordon are real but added that the relationship was toxic,” the police report states.
