Houston: Brandy Rusher was badly injured after being shot in Houston. The 33-year old model is still in intensive care unit of a city hospital and being treated for gunshot wounds.
She was lucky to have survived as two other people lost their lives in the same shooting incident. Besides her, two more people have sustained severe injuries.
The shooting incidents seem to have gone up substantially across the US in recent months. On daily basis, the news of shootings and killings are appearing. Every day this past week, we have shooting incidents and killings from Las Vegas to Chicago and Houston and many other cities.
A report in the TMZ says that “A former contestant on “America’s Next Top Model” was one of several people shot at an apartment complex in Houston … and we’ve confirmed the model’s in critical condition in intensive care…We’ve confirmed Brandy Rusher’s one of the victims, a former contestant on ‘ANTM.’ 2 people were reportedly killed and 4 others were shot”.
While recounting the incident, a HCSO report says that around 6:30 Sunday evening, two rascals came in a white car at Haverstock Hills apartment complex on Aldine Bender Road. This is an area infested with gang rivalries in the past. Here the rascals confronted the people there and pulled out high-powered rifle and shot from point blank range, killing two people on the site and injuring three others.
A report in The Hill, quoting HCSO spokesman Thomas Gilliland said that the man fired 15 to 18 rounds, striking four men and two women multiple times. Two of the men, including Christopher Beatty, the only formally identified victim, died from their wounds. The other four, purportedly including Rusher, were transported to various hospitals.
Till now the criminals behind the shooting have not been arrested and police are searching for them. If you happen to known about them, you can contact 713-274-9100, or contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
In an interview, more than a decade ago, Rusher said that she grew up in strict church. And went on to add, “they looked down upon participating in such activities. Around 12 or 13 we left the church and I branched out and then decided to pursue the modeling industry. I really had never done anything like this so it was great and an answer to my prayers.”
