Muslims hold massive protest in Delhi against communalization

New Delhi: More than two dozen Muslim organizations came together to hold a massive demonstration in the heart of the national capital Friday to draw attention towards the excesses of saffron organizations across the country. The Muslim organizations pleaded the President of the country Pranab Mukherjee to take stock of the situation and take steps to control the prevailing communal situation throughout the nation. The rally was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH).

The massive demonstration was held at Jantar Mantar in the heart of New Delhi. The protesters chanted slogans against not just Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS and the BJP but also chanted slogans like ‘down, down with state terrorism’. The important aspect of the rally was the presence of large number of women and kids in the rally.

The Muslim organizations also presented six point demands before the President and asked President Mukherjee to control the rampaging Gau Rakhshaks who are attacking Muslims and Dalits throughout the country. They claim that people should be given the right to eat what they want. They said that it was a right that should be preserved.

jih-rally4  jih-rally-3 jih-rally-2The Muslim organizations also demanded that the government should establish a commission that investigates the benefits that some organizations are going to get through these communal flare-ups. They said that some organizations are trying to polarize the communal atmosphere in the country and want to benefit from it.

They also asked the President to conduct judicial inquiries in recent incidents of communal flare-ups in Dadri, Una, Dengar, Raihada, Ahmadabad etc. The fourth demand of the Muslim organizations was that those families be given right compensation. They demanded that a judicious system be prepared to come up with an immediate response that is non-discriminatory. They also demanded that democratic, secular and judicial system of the country be upheld.

The Muslim organizations also asked the President to get the communal violence bill passed from the Parliament to upheld the rule of the law and maintain peace in the country.
The rally at Jantar Mantar was addressed by Nusrat Ali Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Navaid Hamid of Muslim Majlis Mushawarat, Maulana Abdul Hamid Noumani of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, renowned Dalit leader Ashok Bharti, S Raghwan of Lok Raj Sanghtan, Qasim Rasool Ilyas of Welfare Party of India, Engineer Muhammad Saleem of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind besides many others.
