Lucknow: Samajwadi Party is looking like a television drama with unexpected highs and lows on the daily basis. Such lows and highs tend to mentally impact even the television viewers who become emotionally attached with the television serials.
After Thursday and Friday’s high drama, another drama – of more intense nature – played out in the open.
UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has disposed his own father and assumed the president-ship of the party that his father founded quarter of a century ago.
Meanwhile Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Sunday once again cracked the whip against Ramgopal Yadav just days after expelling him from the party along with his son Akhilesh Kumar Yadav for six years. Acting against Ramgopal for convening a national executive meet, Mulayam expelled him from Samajwadi Party for six years. At the meeting today, the party’s national executive elected Akhilesh Yadav as the new party chief. Mulayam rejected the move and called it “unconstitutional”. He called for a fresh meeting on January 5.
