Washington: The day when a Federal judge in Hawaii temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s travel ban on 6 Muslim nations, before it came into force, there is another raging controversy. A tweet from McDonald’s corporate account not just attacked Donald Trump, but went on to add that people want President Barack Obama back.
But as the tweet went viral, attracting massive amount of attention, McDonald’s deleted it. To be true, it was not even one hour before the McDonald’s deleted the tweet from its official corporate Twitter handle.
Though it remained online for merely thirty minutes in all, it created enough reverberation across the US and beyond. The tweet was the most ferocious attack against Donald Trump in a long time, denigrating President Trump and calling for Barack Obama’s return.
Within no time, the tweet was shared and retweeted by several thousand people across the globe.
The tweet said, “You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back”. The last part of the tweet was all the more interesting and outrageous as it said, “also you have tiny hands.”
A report by NPR says, “posted at 9:16 a.m. ET, the tweet drew a wide range of responses — and guesses over whether it was the work of an external hacker or a disgruntled employee”. A comment while talking about the unexpected tweet from the McDonald’s said, “I assume somebody decided to quit their social media job in style”.
President Trump has appeared in an ad for the company. He also talked about being a fan of the fast food brand, praising it for its cleanliness and saying he prefers fish sandwiches, Big Macs and Quarter Pounders in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
The President said, “It’s great stuff…One bad hamburger, you can destroy McDonald’s. One bad hamburger and you take Wendy’s and all these other places and they’re out of business. I like cleanliness, and I think you’re better off going there than maybe some place that you have no idea where the food is coming from.”
