A 42-year old motorcyclist was reportedly killed in a fatal motorcycle crash in Queens on Monday.
The incident that has shocked Matthew Rosenzweig’s family and friends took place very close to where horrific incident happened involving two buses. A tour bus crashed into MTA bus at Main St. and Northern Blvd. in Flushing, killing three people and injured at least 16 others. Several of the injured are still in critical condition.
The motorcycle crash involving Matthew Rosenzweig happened around 5:25 p.m. on the Northern Blvd. exit ramp of the Grand Central Parkway in Flushing, and not far from Citi Field. Reports suggest that the motorcyclist who has been driving his bike for a long time suddenly lost control of his bike, struck a teen girl and smashed into a concrete barrier. The girl has survived the accident and is out of danger.
Artie Cabrera, a close friend of Matthew Rosenzweig, in a Facebook post said, “My best friend of thirty-three years, Matthew Rosenzweig, passed away tonight in what I’m hearing was a motorcycle accident. I am heartbroken, confused, and just really angry. I’m waiting on more information because I have very little to go on right now. I can’t process that this has happened”.
Scott Lonebull while condoling the death of Rosenzweig wrote on Facebook, “the first time I rode with the guy, my first impression was “what the fuck is wrong with him?” by the end of the day, it was like we were friends for years. that’s the kind of guy he was…Good People…you always knew when he walked into the room, things got loud lol. broke my heart to find out today he was taken from us in a motorcycle accident. RIP Matthew Rosenzweig”.
