Los Angeles: If reports are to be believed, Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock reportedly skillfully persuaded his live-in girlfriend, Marilou Danley, to leave the United States much before he went on to commit the worst ever carnage in the US in this century.
Marilou Danley’s sister, while talking to an Australian cable network said “I know that she don’t know anything as well, like us. She was sent away. She was sent away so that she will be not there to interfere with what he’s planning”. She reportedly asked the television channel to keep her identity a secret and blur her face completely on television.
The woman who was in Philippines at the time of the carnage had gone to her country of origin almost a fortnight before the Las Vegas shooting. Officials claim that the woman returned to Los Angeles Tuesday. So far there hasn’t been any motive in the massacre that was very well-planned and executed. The shooter took his own life and was found dead when the police entered his 32 story room in the hotel.
In the meantime reports suggest that the Las Vegas attacker transferred $100,000 overseas merely days before the massacre. Investigators are taking a harder look at the attacker’s girlfriend and what she might have known about the assault on a country music festival, with the sheriff naming her a “person of interest”. The girlfriend, Marilou Danley, 62, returned to the United States from the Philippines on Tuesday night and was met at Los Angeles International Airport by FBI agents, according to a law enforcement official.
Media has quoted another sister of the woman as saying that she didn’t know that she was going to Philippines till Steve told her about it. It was Steve who said, ‘Marilou, I found you a cheap ticket to the Philippines.'” She added Danley was likely “even (more) shocked than us” by his actions. “Of all the people that they have interviewed, … no one can put the puzzles together — no one — except Marilou, because Steve is not here to talk anymore. Only Marilou can maybe help…If Marilou was there, this, maybe, as well, didn’t happen because she won’t let it happen,” she said.
Officials have called the woman as a person of interest. Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Danley is a person of interest. Officials believe that she can point to some motives behind the carnage. The woman is reportedly an Australian citizen but a native of the Philippines. She reportedly met Paddock after separating from her ex-husband, Geary Danley in 2013. Eric Paddock, Stephen’s brother, said the couple met while Danley was a hostess at the Atlantis Casino in Reno. “He loved her,” Eric said.
