Kochi: This is simply unbelievable. The case of a renowned Malayali actress who was abducted and sexually assaulted in a moving car in Kochi, Kerala in February has finally been solved and the findings are simply distressing. A well-known actor from the state seems to have hatched the entire ghastly conspiracy.
After police investigations revealed the nefarious planning into the criminal conspiracy, the actor has been charged and arrest.
The news of Dileep ‘s arrest was announced and confirmed by none other than the office of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The actor was arrested Monday evening arrested by a Kerala Police team probing the abduction of a popular actress in February this year.
The actor was not arrested suddenly. There were suspicious of his involvement in the case after the criminals who had committed the crime led the police to Dileep. The actor had been questioned last month for 13 hours in the case and was let off.
He was quizzed again earlier today at an undisclosed location near here, and after five hours the police probe team recorded the arrest of the actor.
Reports claim that at around 7.20 p.m., Dileep was brought to the Aluva Police club from the place where he was questioned. Dileep is understood to be behind the abduction of the young actress on February 17. On that day, the hugely popular actress was travelling from Thrissur to Kochi by road when she was abducted. After almost two hours she was dumped near the house of director-turned-actor Lal, who upon hearing her harrowing experience, informed police.
48-year old actor whose original name is Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan Pillai began his film career in 1991 by assisting director Kamal. He attained popularity through his impressionist acts in stage shows and Comicola, a television comedy series aired on Asianet. His role as Dileep in Manathe Kottaram (1994) paved way to his acting career. Films such as Sallapam (1996), Ee Puzhayum Kadannu (1997), Punjabi House (1998), Udayapuram Sulthan (1999), and Chandranudikkunna Dikhil (1999) established his status as a prominent actor during the late-1990s. After delivering back-to-back hits in the early-2000s with films such as Thenkasipattanam (2000), Joker (2000), Ee Parakkum Thalika (2001), Ishtam (2001), Mazhathullikkilukkam (2002) and Kalyanaraman (2002), Dileep established himself as a bankable lead star in the Malayalam film industry with the blockbuster success of Meesa Madhavan.
