Kochi: The entire Malayalam film fraternity came out in protest against the rape of a leading Malayalam actress in industrial town of Kochi. The 30-year old-actress was waylaid, abducted and raped in a moving Audi car by four men.
Reports suggest that the perpetrators of the crime actually shot a video of the entire incident and even tried to inject some sort of sedative, but couldn’t succeed. The incident has not just shaken the actress and her relatives but the entire Mollywood film fraternity and women.
The award winning actress was waylaid on her way to Kochi from Thrissur. Reports suggest that the driver of the car had connived with the criminals and he helped them get into the car and molest and rape her.
The entire Mollywood film fraternity came out in support of the actress as the prime accused moved for bail in the court. EC Poulose, counsel of prime accused Pulsar Suni, told the media in Kochi that the bail application will be moved on Tuesday. The prime accused and two others involved in the abduction reportedly sought anticipatory bail in the Kerala high court even as police continue to join the dots in the case.
Police officials have said that they have tracked all the accused involved in the case. Police apparently became over active following the personal interference by the chief minister of Kerala in the case. Inspector general of police, P Vijayan, said they have been able to track down all the accused. They have made three arrests and are keeping a close tab on the prime accused and three others.
Police said that the actress told them that Pulsar Suni committed the crime at the behest of others. Suni, who has been a driver in the film industry for actors and others for some years, reportedly told her that he had been hired to kidnap her and if she resisted, he would have to use force.
