DAYTON, Ohio — A 14-year old girl has been killed in a rather very wired fashion. Reports suggest that the girl identified as Mackenna Kronenberger lost her life after being hit by a stray bullet fired from outside.

Authorities claim that the young girl was killed Wednesday in the most unfortunate style. Officials claim that the two opposing parties were trading fire and it was in the course of this exchange of fire outside her Daytona home, when a bullet hit the girl while sitting.

Dayton Daily News, while quoting Lt. Gregg Gaby said that police have arrested a person in the case. He said that two 18-year-old men are in custody. He says they are longtime friends who had sided with rival groups.

The child was described by authorities as an “innocent bystander” who was not even a target of the two warring parties.

Lt. Gregg Gaby told Daytona Daily News that “the people who think the way to solve a feud is through gun violence … that’s got to stop”.

Officials claim that one of the two people who traded fire is going to be charged with murder. They also contended that the second person will be charged for tampering with evidence and having a weapon while on probation. The child would have been a sophomore at Carroll High School in Dayton in the fall.

Mackenna Kronenberger was in her bedroom when a dispute broke out outside of her Dayton home, the Dayton Daily News reports. Shots were fired, and one bullet broke through her bedroom window and struck her in the chest. “What happened to just talking? Why does everyone have to resort to violence?” said Lt. Gregg Gaby of the Dayton Police Department at a press conference.

Two people have already been taken into custody. Both the accused are teenagers. 18-year old Dylan Angel has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of murder. On the other hand, another 18-year old, Jason Tidwell has reportedly been charged with tampering with evidence and possessing weapons while on probation. He’s scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
