LOS ANGELES – An Amber alert has reportedly been issued against a woman who reportedly carjacked a vehicle in South Los Angeles. Reports suggest that there was a 16-year-old boy inside the car when the vehicle was carjacked.
Latest reports suggest that the woman, identified as Kandice Johnson has been arrested in San Bernardino with the stolen vehicle.
It was at around 7 p.m. Friday that Los Angeles Police Department announced that they had apprehended the woman, who is said to be an acquaintance of the boy’s stepmother.
In the meantime, the teenager was not found on the vehicle and he was still to be located by the police. Nonetheless, police officials are sure that the boy has neither been a victim of abduction or the victim of a crime.
Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section’s Tony Im said that the boy identified as Eric Coleman is not thought to have been kidnapped.
The 31-year old woman reportedly approached Eric’s stepmother around Figueroa streets in South Los Angeles. She is accused to have threatened the boy’s step mother with gun demanding that she hand over the vehicle to her and leave the place. Fearing for her life and safety, she fled the scene as was demanded by the armed woman. Eric is black, 5-foot-8, weighs 150 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
