LANSING, Mich.: A well-known sports doctor who is accused of sexually assaulting many women has been divested of his license. The charges filed against him over the last few months make it apparently clear that these molestations of women and girls were not simple mistakes, but planned and had developed into a sort of habit.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, while talking about Dr. Larry Nassar called him a monster. “This guy is disgusting. This guy is despicable…He is a monster” said he.
The former gymnastics’ doctor’s medical license was suspended some three months ago. To stop him practice altogether, his license has been revoked. Officials claim that he will have to pay more than $100,000 when he applies for the license agai.
It should be kept in mind that Nassar worked as a doctor at Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics, which trains Olympians. More than 80 women and girls have come forward and filed charges against him. In the Lansing area alone, he is charged to have abused ten girls.
Apparently it took sometimes for the authorities to file charges against him and gather evidence. Michigan State University fired Nassar in September 2016, and USA Gymnastics cut ties in 2015, CBS Detroit reports.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed 22 counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree linked to nine victims; two were under age 13 when they were allegedly abused. Nassar’s attorneys declined to comment on the new charges.
While talking about his modus operandi Schuette said, “Dr. Nassar preyed on these young girls, just little girls…Dr. Nassar used his status and authority to engage in horrid sexual assaults under the guise of medical procedures…I’ve never seen or heard of anything like this…Based on the access he had to young girls over the last 20 years, the numbers are staggering.”
The court was told by one of his victims that Nasser told her, “We don’t tell parents about this because they wouldn’t understand”. The girl was treated by Nassar for a spinal fracture when she was 15 years old, according to a police affidavit. Dr Nassar is married to Stephanie Nassar.
