Finally the inevitable seems to have happened. CNN has fired Kathy Griffin over her Trump photos. The leading media house in the US has made it clear that the Kathy Griffin will not appear with Anderson Cooper on New Year’s Eve.
Yesterday, Griffin had released a picture of herself holding a mock “decapitated” head of Donald Trump. The President in a tweet condemned the picture saying that his eleven year old son couldn’t come to terms with the picture.
The picture failed to get attract much attention as Trump’s late night tweet on media got everyone guess as to what he meant.
The Covfefe tweet that was retweeted by more than a hundred thousand times was deleted a few hours after it was put by the President. To be fair, the tweet didn’t make any sense. It just said “Despite the constant negative press covfefe”, and nothing more.
After Donald Trump made his displeasure known and many called it tasteless, CNN announced they have terminated their contract with the comedian. “CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year’s Eve program” CNN spokesman Shimrit Sheetrit confirmed the news.
“We found what she did disgusting and offensive…We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down” the CNN spokesperson said.
Even her co-host Cooper too condemned the tweet saying, “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in…It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate”.
