Kathy Griffin has reportedly been fired by CNN after her tasteless tweet showing a mock beheaded head of President Donald Trump. Not just Trump condemned the image calling it sick, First Lady Melania Trump too came forward and condemned the image.
The comedian and writer has come forward with an apology after the widespread condemnation that the photo shoot got from not just social media, but also from almost everyone. Though, there were still people who claimed that this is what Trump has been preaching.
Melania Trump posted a statement on her official FLOTUS Twitter handle. She not just condemned the photoshoot but also questioned Griffin’s mental health. “As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing. When you consider some of the atrocities happening in the world today, a photo opportunity like this is simply wrong and makes you wonder about the mental health of the person who did it”.
In the meantime Griffin has apologised after it provoked outrage. In a tweet Trump said, “Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself,” said the president. “My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this.”
Later, when the criticism escalated, she posted a video message on Twitter begging for forgiveness and said she had “crossed a line”. The 56-year-old Emmy award-winner said she was asking celebrity photographer Tyler Shields to delete the photo from the internet.
56 year old Kathleen Mary “Kathy” Griffin was born and brought up in Oak Park, Illinois. Her Bravo reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (2005–2010) became a ratings hit for the network and earned her two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality Program. Griffin has released six comedy albums, all of which received Grammy Award nominations. She has has taped numerous standup specials with HBO and Bravo. For the latter network, she has recorded 16 television specials, breaking the Guinness World record for the number of aired TV specials on any network, by any comedian in the history of comedy.
Her personal life seems to be rather very confusing of sorts. Griffin married Washington, D.C. native Matt Moline on February 18, 2001, atop the 360 Degree Restaurant in Hollywood. ABC News reported that she walked down the aisle to the strains of 1980s Sentimental ballad#Power balladspower ballad “Sister Christian” by Night Ranger. Her maid of honor was Brooke Shields, and the wedding was attended by, among others, Camryn Manheim, Bill Maher, James Williams, and Jane Krakowski. They were divorced in 2006.
Next year there were rumors that she was dating Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. To be true the two attended the 2007 Emmy Awards together, and speculation arose when the two were interviewed together on the red carpet. Later the two opened about the relationship. In an interview, when asked if she actually targeted Wozniak to make her ex-husband jealous, Griffin stated: “What better way to get back at my ex, who was a tech, than to marry the biggest techno-nerd in the Universe?”
Their relation didn’t go far and by 2009, the two apparently went their separate ways. In 2011 she announced that she was romantically involved with actor and former NFL practice-squad player Isaiah Mustafa. But Mustafa denied that he was in any relationship at all.
For the last five year, since 2012 to be precise, Griffin has been in a relationship with marketing executive Randy Bick. A People report says, “The pair met at a food and wine festival five years ago, and Griffin admits that at first she thought it would be nothing more than a one night stand. “Because I thought he was just a man-whore, if you will,” she says. “So yeah, we’ve been together five years now, and we have a great time, and he’s very sweet and very mellow. He’s like a regular guy, you know, he’s like a real guy. He’s not like a Hollywood guy…Bick also lives with Griffin in her new home, along with their two rescue dogs Pom and Larry. But the stand-up star says despite the large space, there are no plans to expand their brood”. He is 38 year old and thus 18 years her junior.
