It was Mother’s Day. A day when motherhood is celebrated and kids make it a point to bring joy to the faces of their mothers by spending time with them and selecting the best possible gifts for them.
But a Clackamas County selected the day to not just kill his mother but decapitate her body, remove her head and take it along to attack another target some 12 miles away from the family home. Thankfully, the barbarian was overpowered by people in the Oregon grocery store where he attacked an employee. They called 911 and handed over the man to police with his mother’s severed head and an eight inch long knife that he had used to stab the employee as many as seven times.
Almost the same time when the police received the call from grocery store, they also received a call from Colton, a nearby small town of some three thousand residents about discovery of a dead body with her head missing. The authorities have Investigators confirmed late Monday that Joshua Lee Webb was holding his mother’s head when he went into Estacada’s only grocery store.
Authorities have now confirmed that Joshua lee Webb killed his mother, 59-year old Tina Marie Webb, at the family’s rural home in Colton.
Authorities claim that the headless body of the mother was discovered by Joshua Webb’s one of the sisters who came visiting for the holiday. She discovered their mother’s headless body on the floor of the home and came to the neighbor’s house to ask them to call police.
While talking about the incident a neighbor of the family said, “This is just a nightmare…It’s something you wouldn’t imagine someone would do”.
David Webb, father of Joshua who looked shattered by the loss of his life said, “My wife was wonderful…I’ve been married to her for almost 41 years. Joshua was our son. I never saw a problem. Evidently there was one. I don’t know. I start crying every time I think about it.”
It is yet unknown as to why 36-year old Joshua Webb killed his mother.
A report while talking about the whole incident at the grocery store said, “A customer first saw a man, later identified as Webb, covered in blood, screamed and ran out of the store in downtown Estacada, said Ashlie Crombie, 25, who has worked there for about three years. Crombie wasn’t working Sunday but started to get calls and texts from friends and family asking if she was safe. Co-workers soon told her what happened, she said…The customer’s screams alerted other people in the store, Crombie said as she stood outside the market, which remained closed Monday. It wasn’t clear how many people at the time were in the Thriftway, which has about 30 employees, she said”.
