London: A report in the Guardian has said that Jim Tavaré – recognized for his role as Tom the Innkeeper in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” has suffered life threatening injuries in a car accident.
He has suffered several fractures in his chest, broken his neck and punctured his lung. Details suggest that the 54-year old actor broke as many as 15 ribs besides badly fracturing his right leg.
Nonetheless, till now his family hasn’t released more details as to where the crash took place. Jim Tavaré is a well-respected comedian, actor and musician. He is best known for his work on The Sketch Show on ITV which won a BAFTA award.
It is said that Tavaré co-wrote the BAFTA-winning ITV series The Sketch Show, where he appeared alongside Lee Mack, Tim Vine, Ronni Ancona, Karen Taylor and Kitty Flanagan.
He is also a respected comedian and has won applause from people not just the UK but elsewhere too. In 2008 he was a finalist on Last Comic Standing 6 and the only overseas act ever to have reached the final show. He performed a 63-date national tour with the other four Last Comic Standing finalists throughout the USA.
His wife, Laura posted hospital pics and wrote on his Facebook page, ” This is Laura here. Now that his family have been informed, Jim has asked me to let you all know that he was involved in a serious car accident yesterday, a head on collision… He’s had two blood transfusions so far and is about to go in for his first surgery.”
