Jennifer Nevin, mother of a five year old son was found dead close to a road in Alabama countryside on Monday. The death of the 23-year old woman had shocked the people in the area.
Reports suggest that the body of the woman was found on the side of a rural road. Authorities haven’t released details of how the woman was killed and what led to her death. The body of the woman was discovered by chance by a worker who was working on a nearby gas well.
Nonetheless, considerable progress on the case has been made as the police detained three people including a 16-year old and a woman in connection of her death.
Tuscaloosa County officials told the media that three people including Koran Rashad Lewis, 23, Kendrick Ky’Andre Marshall, 16, and Vida Milagros Confetti, 20, have been arrested and charged with the murder of the woman. Officials claimed that the two men were detained on $150,000 bonds while the woman is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Capt. Gary Hood was quoted by the Tuscaloosa News, “We developed some leads last night, worked on them all day today…We interviewed multiple people, several witnesses. We were able to develop a timeline and recreate the last days of Miss Nevin’s life.”
Reports indicate that the 23-year old woman was into consuming drugs. Her brother said that her death might have something to do with her drug addiction. She was last seen by her mother when she picked up Nevin’s five-year-old son in Tuscaloosa. Her brother was quoted by the media as saying, “She had just developed the wrong circle of friends, the types of friends who weren’t looking to take care of or look out for her…We tried. We tried so hard, and it wasn’t enough.”
Police officials are still searching for some other suspects in her death. “We don’t want to say right now. The investigation is still actively ongoing…We’re still pursuing leads and looking for other subjects to interview. There are possibly others who could be charged as well”, Hood said.
