New Jersey: Indian American, Brick, New Jersey Resident Trupal Patel was killed earlier this year. Now two people have been charged in the unfortunate death of Trupal patel.

Reports suggest that Joseph Villani and his girlfriend Raquel Garajau have been charged with robbing and killing Trupal Patel. The two robbed and killed Patel and left his dead body in a park in February, earlier this month.

The death of 29-year old Trupal Shah looked like a mystery with initially there not being any lead. But later Joseph Villani, of Ocean Township, and his girlfriend, Raquel Garajau, of Tinton Falls, were arrested in the case. The two have reportedly been charged in a 13-count indictment on May 15 for killing of Patel.

Authorities claim that Villani was arrested in late February after Garajau, Villani’s best friend reported interactions with Villani in the moments before and after Indian American’s slaying. He reportedly appeared in the court this past Tuesday.

Mid-last year Patel was reportedly arrested in with two other people on charges of possessing four pounds of marijuana and an ounce of psilocybin mushrooms, an illegal hallucinogenic drug. The four were carrying as much as $61,000 in cash.

Police reports suggest that it seems Villani knew about the drug dealings of Patel. Two months ago, when only Villani had been arrested in the case, Christopher Decker, a Monmouth County assistant prosecutor, said in court that Villani had voiced his plans to rob Patel numerous times.

Decker said Villani had reportedly enquired his friends about how Patel worked and other details including how much money and marijuana he usually carried and what kind of car he drove.

Patel was reported missing by one of his friends on Feb. 9 to the Asbury Park Police Department. But it was around two weeks later that he was found dead on Feb. 22, wrapped in a blue blanket, by a Shark River Park county park ranger, the report added. Police officials involved in the murder investigation came to conclusion that Patel was killed at Villani’s home, according to the report. Villani was arrested days later and has remained jail without bail.
