Ram Jayakumar, a 26-year-old Brown University graduate is reported missing since yesterday. Lexicon police officials said that an Indian American, Jayakumar has gone missing from Boston.
A report by the NECN quoted his parents as saying that the 26-year old youth went out in his car around 7:15 p.m. Friday. He hasn’t been seen since then by his parents.
Reports suggest that he was seen the same evening at the Vedanta Society on Deerfield Street in Boston where he parked his car.
Lexington Police officials have requested the people to contact them in case they come to know something about the missing youth. They have asked the people to contact the Lexington Police at: 781-862-1212 if they happen to know something about his whereabouts.
Indian American community is increasingly feeling the brunt of the racial crimes in United States following the presidential elections. More than half a dozen people have lost their lives since January with around four people of Indian origin being killed this month alone.
In the meantime, a Lexington police statement said, “On Friday May 12, 2017 the parents of Ram Jayakumar contacted the Lexington Police to report their son missing”.
Authorities claim that on Saturday morning, Jayakumar’s car turned up on Bay State Road, near Silber Way, in Boston. According to NECN, Jayakumar had told his parents he would return in an hour before leaving departing Friday night.
Authorities have described Jayakumar as 26 years old male of Indian descent, black hair, 5’6’’ tall, and 120 pounds. “Ram wears glasses and was last seen with a blue backpack. There is no current clothing description available. He left home in Lexington on May 11th at 7:15 PM in his car and informed his parents that he would be back in one hour and did not return,” the police statement said. “His vehicle was located the morning of Friday May 13th parked on Bay State Road near Silber Way in Boston, which is near the Charles River. Ram is a graduate of Brown University in Providence, RI. ”
