Ifeoma White-Thorpe, Nigerian born teenager accepted into 8 Ivy schools, parents not surprized

ViewsHeadlines Desk,

Washington: Getting into an Ivy League school is a yeomen’s job. For many teenagers, it is a dream that remains unaccomplished despite all their efforts. But for this 17-year old, being accepted not in 1 Ivy League, but all the eight Ivy Leagues is not very surprising.

The 17-year old girl has reportedly been accepted by all eight Ivy League colleges. The best thing about the 17-year old girl, Ifeoma White-Thorpe, is the fact that her mother too is not surprised over her huge achievement.

The teenager, who belongs to New Jersey, was recently accepted by the top eight schools including Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Yale, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard. Besides, a CNN report claims that Stanford too had accepted her.

Right now the Nigerian-born teenager is studying at Morris Hills High School in New Jersey and she will have to wait till June for her graduation from the school. Only then she can move to one of these top schools where she has won the admission. While talking to the ABC NY she said, “I got into Harvard early action so I figured I’ll just go there, so then I got into all the others and I was like, wait now I don’t know where I want to go.”

A CNN report claims that the teenager is keen to study biology and pursue a career in global health. Since all of the Ivy League schools “have great research facilities,” she decided to apply to them all. “Students getting into all of the Ivies is a monumental feat, but it’s happened to a handful of teens over the past couple of years — Kwasi Enin in 2014, Harold Ekeh in 2015 and Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna and Kelly Hyles last year…So where will she go…Her parents said the choice is totally up to her; White-Thorpe said she just doesn’t know yet”.
