Easter is among the most prominent festivals of the Christians across the world. Part of the extended holy week, the day is celebrated immediately after Good Friday that is celebrated on the day of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
There is no denying that the entire week is important for Christian faithful across the world and people celebrate it with unprecedented enthusiasm, passion, fervor and religious zeal. From the Holy lands in Palestine that fall under present day Israel to Occupied West Bank, Egypt, and throughout the world, the entire week is reserved for prayers, congregations and simply more prayers.
It is a common belief among Christians and Muslims too that Jesus Christ will return from the dead and then lead the faithful to the way of God. While Christians believe that Christ will return from dead, Muslims believe that Christ didn’t die in the first place and was taken alive to the heavens by God and he will return later. Happy Resurrection Sunday.
Easter has many names and is called by different names in different parts of the world. It is also called Pascha or Resurrection Sunday. The day is detailed in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.
The entire week is among the holiest for Christians, particularly for Christians belonging to Catholics. Most Christians refer to the week before Easter as “Holy Week”—it contains the days of the Easter Triduum, including Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Maundy and Last Supper, as well as Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus.
“May you feel the joy of the presence of Jesus. The Lord has risen to bless us this Easter. And I pray that the love of God is resurrected, reborn and renewed in your heart. Happy Easter.”
“The story of Easter is the story of Gods wonderful window of divine surprise.”
“The seasonal remembrance of resurrection is here again, and whole world is reminded of the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, son of God, saviour of mankind.”
“The best thing about Easter Sunday is being with family and good friends. Happy Easter!”
“Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness.”
