Renowned comedian, Charlie Murphy is no more. A TMZ report suggests that the elder brother of Eddie Murphy has died. He was 57.
Charlie Murphy cause of death is said to leukemia for which he was under treatment for quite sometimes. He was being treated at a New York City hospital and was said to be improving over the last few weeks.
Born on 12 July 1959, Charlie Murphy had a distinguished career as a comedian. He was known for his stint with Comedy Central sketch comedy series Chappel’s Show. After Chappelle’s Show host Dave Chappelle left the show, Murphy and Donnell Rawlings hosted the “lost episodes” compiled from sketches produced before Chappelle’s departure.
A report in USA Today while confirming his death said, “He collaborated with writing his brother’s starring films, Norbert and Vampire in Brooklyn. He voiced roles in animated TV series that include The Boondocks and Black Jesus…Murphy’s feature films include Our Family Wedding, King’s Ransom and CB4…He is credited with appearances to air later this year on the TV drama series Power”.
