Charles Payne, the 56-year old Fox Business Network host has reportedly been suspended by the network yesterday following accusations of sexual harassment. Charles Payne, who hosts Fox’s Making Money with Charles Payne will be off the air during the investigation.
A report in the Los Angeles Times claims that the leading business journalist has been suspended by the Fox Business Network. While initially, the identity of the woman was kept under wraps, she was later identified as Scottie Nell Hughes, best known for being a paid CNN commentator during the 2016 presidential election.
In a statement released to the media, Fox said, “We take issues of this nature extremely seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for any professional misconduct…This matter is being thoroughly investigated and we are taking all of the appropriate steps to reach a resolution in a timely manner.”
Payne who attended Minot State University and Central Texas College started his career on Wall Street as an analyst at E.F. Hutton in 1985.He is also the chief executive officer and principal financial analyst of Wall Street Strategies, an independent stock market research firm he founded in 1991.
Payne in a statement apologized to his wife and children for his 3 year long romantic liaison with the woman. He said, “I would like to extend an apology to my family and friends for having been involved in a romantic affair that ended two years ago”.
But he has refused the charge of sexually harassing the woman. His lawyer Neal Korval, told the Times that Payne “categorically denies” harassing Hughes and will fight her accusation in court if she files a complaint. Reports suggest that their romance was a common knowledge to the extent that the two shared the same room at a Las Vegas hotel in 2015 when Payne was hosting Making Money With Charles Payne.
Scottie Nell Hughes began her career as an executive producer on the Steve Gill Show in Nashville, Tennessee. If reports are to be believed, Hughes was in the first group of radio talk show hosts sent by the Department of Defense to travel to the front lines of Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq and Kuwait, as well as the detention facilities at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.
I will fight this like a lion armed with truth. Thanks so much to all those that have reached out in support.#FightingBack

She has invited numerous controversies over the last few years. In an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, Hughes got into a heated discussion with commentator Ana Navarro over the 2005 tape of Donald Trump making comments about assaulting women. Last year, comedian Samantha Bee poked fun at what Hughes called her “silly verbal stumble” and “slip-of-the-tongue” on Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
In June this year, Fox Business Network let the world know that that it signed Payne to a new multi-year contract to continue hosting Making Money. He is estimated to be worth $10 million.
