BJP Candidates list for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2017 – Polling Dates, Schedule etc

ViewsHeadlines Desk,

Dehradun: BJP is trying its best to win the hill state of Uttarakhand. The party has invested heavily in campaigning in the state and believes that it has realistic chances to win over the state. Here polling is set to be held in single phase and electorates in the state will vote for their favorite party on February 15. Results will be announced along with other four states that are simultaneously going to the polls.

This is only major state going to the polls where the fight is only between the BJP and the Congress. In all other states it is triangular fight. In UP, BJP is pitted against Bahujan Samaj Party and SP-Congress alliance, while in Punjab the fight is between the Congress, the Congress-SAD alliance and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).Swami_Prasad_Maurya_with_Amit_Shah

Nonetheless, the party is facing serious threat from its own rebels who may destroy its chances in the state. Though the party is putting a brave face, the problem cannot be easily skirted. The BJP’s list includes 12 former Congress leaders who switched ranks recently to join the BJP. Former state Congress chief and minister Yashpal Arya and his son Sanjeev Arya are going to contest from Bajpur and Naintal reserved seat respectively. There are other instances too and this has antagonized many local BJP leaders.
