Lucknow: Asaduddin Owaisi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a massive rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad city. Thousands of people who had poured into the town, known for its beautiful bangles, were not disappointed as the firebrand Hyderabad MP was at his attacking best.
The All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President’s attack was not confined to BJP and Narendra Modi, he didn’t spare Congress and Samajwadi Party either. He said Rahul Gandhi was immature and was not even taken seriously by political leaders.
The MIM chief who has been campaigning aggressively in Western UP said that the tall claims of development by Samajwadi Party were nothing more than jokes as the state remained well behind other states in term of development. “There are no development work visible anywhere in the state”, he said.
As the city is known for small scale industry that was badly impacted by Modi’s demonetization decision, he criticized it severely claiming that the country was derailed from fast paced development. He said small and medium businesses were completely destroyed, with thousands and thousands of industries being shut down across the country and lakhs of workers being rendered unemployed.
“While bhakts might still be calling the notebandi decision beneficial for the nation, nonetheless people are seeing the adverse consequences. The businesses have been destroyed, common people badly hit and no impact at all on the people who have black money stashed abroad” he went on to add.
He went on to add “Only poor people of the country have been impacted by the notebandi. They are the ones who have been standing outside banks and ATMs, struggling to fund their daughters’ marriages, their children’s fee and even meeting their daily expenses.
While Owaisi entourage had to reach Islamia Inter College Ground at 11 am, he reached there almost four hours late. Nonetheless, it didn’t diminish the enthusiasm of his newfound fans. It took huge effort on the part of Owaisi to reach the stage.
While attacking the BJP for bringing Hindutva in its poll manifesto, he said that by promising Ram Mandir construction, the saffron party has proved that it is fearful of huge loss in elections.
But he singled out Samajwadi Party for attack and said that the split in the party was a family drama and nothing else. “Akhliesh had promised 18 percent reservation to Muslims at the time of last elections. Now after ruling the state for 5 years, he has completely forgotten the promise”. The MIM has pitted its district president as its candidate from Firozabad Sadar assembly constituency.
