New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal government had made providing free wi-fi services in different parts of Delhi its poll plank two years ago. More than two years have passed since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Arvind Kejriwal came to power in the national capital.
But providing the free wi-fi services at major markets and other important places, has remained a pipe-dream for the Kejriwal party, like many other promises of the party. He seems to have lost the track of his promises and internal squabbling in his party has kept him bogged down.
On the other hand, under the BJP government, Indian Railways has kept its promises of providing free wi-fi services to commuters at as many as 28 railway stations of Konkan Railways.
Reports suggest that Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu has inaugurated the WiFi facility from Kudal Railway Station today at 28 Railway Stations of Konkan Railway. Indian Railways has tied up with M/s SYSCON/JOISTER for provision of 2 Mbps peer to peer 24 hrs FREE Wi-Fi INTERNET bandwidth at 28 stations of Konkan Railway.
The BJP had promised to provide the services earlier. In line with Government’s Digital India Initiative, M/s SYSCON/JOISTER are providing the JOISPOT brand Wi-Fi in Pune & Mumbai educational institutes in Maharashtra state and have now undertaken as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity of providing FREE Wi-Fi bandwidth to the rural area on the Konkan route.
It should be kept in mind that JOISPOT Free Wi-Fi mobile app provides 2 MBPS high speed Wireless internet with unlimited uploads. The FREE Wi-Fi Internet bandwidth is provided at the following Railway stations of Konkan Railway:
12. Aravali Road
20. Rajapur Road

The system can provide access to about 300 users at bigger stations and about 100 users at smaller stations. This initiative of corporation is a steps towards making a smarter India.
