New Delhi: Indian Army has vowed to retaliate with full might and teach the enemy hard lesson in response to the killing and mutilation of an Indian soldier at the Line of Control. Two other soldiers were martyred in unprovoked firing by Pakistan rangers, the Army said.
It is the second incident of mutilation of an Indian soldier by the Pakistani forces at the Line of Control (LOC) in the past one month. The Northern Command also vowed “heavy retribution for the cowardly act”. The incident took place in Machhil sector of Kupwara district in north Kashmir.
In a statement the Indian Army said, “The cowardly act of mutilating the body of one of the Indian soldiers had all the signatures of a BAT (Border Action Team) operation by Pakistan army using terrorists and its soldiers”.
The Northern Command in the statement added “3 soldiers killed in action on LC in Machhil . Body of one soldier mutilated, retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act”.
