Ankit Saxena’s gruesome murder in the national capital has come as a rude shock to the Delhiites. The mindless murder of a young boy by a Muslim family over the alleged affair of their daughter, Khushboo, with him has jolted the capital.

It was a murder that seems to have been well-planned and executed with precision by her family. The girl, Khushboo, has alleged that she wanted to marry Ankit Saxena as they were in love, but her parents refused. While they threatened her, she never thought that her family members will take such extreme step.

The girl, who is an adult and not minor, was quoted by India Today as saying, “I was going to meet Ankit when I was informed that my family has slit his throat. My own family is involved in this. My uncle has carried out the murder. Now I am scared of returning home.”

Reports suggest that acting on eye witnesses’ accounts, authorities have arrested Shehzadi’s mother, father and uncle for the murder. They have also arrested Shehzadi’s underage brother, who is believed to have been a part of the public murder of Ankit. The young boy has been sent to a juvenile home.

If reports are to be believed, the budding photographer and Shehzadi were dating for the last three years against the wishes of the girl’s family. He was attacked by Shehzadi’s father, uncle and brother on Thursday night before his throat was slit with a knife. The road was full of blood where the he was killed.

In the meantime, reports suggest that the mother of Ankit Saxena’s alleged girlfriend used road rage as a pretext to force the 23-year-old Delhi photographer out of his vehicle by ramming her scooter into his . The eyewitnesses claim as Ankit stepped out of the vehicle Delhi’s Raghubir Nagar Thursday evening, he was pounced upon and murdered on the spot. He was pronounced dead when taken to the hospital.

In the meantime extremist outfits including Bajrang Dal and VHP have tried to use the unfortunate incident to ignite the communal hatred and animosity. But his father Yashpal Saxena put cold water on any such efforts by clearly telling the BJP chief that he doesn’t want to give the incident any communal color. He asked justice for his sun and demanded that the family be allowed to grieve.

He also criticized the media for trying to raise communal tension. He openly expressed his displeasure over the TV channels trying to milch the unfortunate incident to increate their TRP and turn an incident into a communal flashpoint. There is no denying that it must have been a very tough thing for a grieving father to see his son’s death being turned into a communal issue. This is the reason that when Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari visited the home of deceased Akit, his father told upfront, “I had a son. If I get justice, it’s good. If not, even then I don’t have hatred against any community. I have no such (communal) thinking. I am unable to understand why media is showing this issue in that way”.

Yashpal Saxena went on toadd, “They (media persons ) come and talk to me so softly and lovingly but show something else on TV. My relatives, neighbors come and tell me about what is being shown on TV channels. They are using words like ‘premi’, ‘Muslim’, ‘Mazhab’ and twisting facts. All are making just stories,”.
