Two days have passed when Al Jarreau’s death was announced, shocking the entire world. Merely two days before his death the jazz singer had announced his retirement from tourning career spanning over more than four decades.
His fans are still unable to come to terms with the demise of 76-year old singer. While he started his career as a jazz singer, he didn’t confine himself only to jazz, but tried different genres and composed his own songs.
While not much is known about his funeral service, a report in EyeWitness says that the singer’s family has planned a small private service. “As fans around the world continue to mourn Al Jarreau, a small private service is being planned for the singer”, says the EyeWitness News.
The report goes on to add, “a small, private service is being planned for the late singer’s immediate family only and as of yet, a public service is not being planned”. Nonetheless, his family hasn’t announced anything officialy as yet.
The 7 times Grammy award winner is survived by his wife Susan Jarreau and son Ryan Jarreau. The 33-year old Ryan is a jiu-jitsu trainer in California. Son of a singer being a martial art trainer sounds unbelievable but true.
