New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party has finally released the second list of candidates for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections 2017. There are chances that the local corporation elections will be held in April.
As there is only a month left, all the political parties are trying to put their best foot forward. Aam Aadmi Party seems to have stolen the race right now by announcing the second list of its candidates for the MCD polls 2017.
AAP has released close to 200 candidates out of 272 wards for the forthcoming MCD polls till now. Other parties are working hard to find out suitable candidates for Delhi local elections. Congress is trying to find out the most suitable contenders. It has received more than 10000 applications from perspective candidates. Now it is trying to find out the most suited in this regard.
AAP is doing everything to wrest the control of the local bodies. It has launched a massive advertisement campaign targeting both print and online sources. It is trying to convey to the people that winning in MCD elections is vital for the city to progress. With the city government under its control, AAP now intends to wrest power from BJP which has been managing the civic bodies. Over the past few months, AAP has been raising issues related to alleged corruption in the MCDs. BJP has accused the party of misusing the tax payers’ money to win elections.
